Lyme Disease

Lyme Disease & Hyperbarics

The United States Center for Disease Control is now reporting that the number of people diagnosed with Lyme Disease each year has risen to 476,000, a 59% increase from the 300,000 diagnosed each year reported previously.

Additionally, Lyme is one of the fastest growing infectious diseases but remains difficult to identify and diagnose, the definitive number of people affected is currently unknown. Research has shown that up to 20% of Lyme patients have symptoms post-treatment, and many clinicians believe that the persistence of bacteria is the cause of lingering symptoms.

The tick-borne bacterium or spirochete (Borrelia burgdorferi) is protected by the biofilm it creates to hide from the immune system and can often lie dormant for years. Often antibiotic interventions alone fall short in providing much needed symptomatic relief.

Hyperbaric therapy has been shown to elevate tissue oxygenation, which can be lethal to this bacterium, increase white blood cell activity and enhance antimicrobial responses. Oxygen is essential in the killing of bacteria and by exponentially raising oxygen levels throughout the body, the efficiency of bactericidal action of white blood cells can be enhanced dramatically.

Increase Mobility

  • Amplifies Energy Levels
  • Diminishes Inflammatory-related Arthritic Pain
  • Improves Walking Distance
  • Lessens Muscle Discomfort

Enhanced Antibacterial Effects

  • Augments Antibiotic Interventions by Driving Spirochete
  • Enhances White Blood Cell and Immune System Activity
  • Improves Antibiotic Cell Wall Penetration
  • Increases Oxygen Free Radicals to Combat the Bb Organism
  • Induces Angiogenesis to Mobilize Blood Flow to Affected Tissue and Bone out of Biofilms

Ameliorate Neurological Conditions

  • Ameliorates Chronic Headaches
  • Decreases Neuroinflammation
  • Enhances Short-Term Memory
  • Improves Concentration
  • Lessens Depression
